Hi Upper Bay Frame & Gallery friends!
Most everyone we know has a collection of some type or another. Is that true for you, too? Whether it’s Boy Scout badges like the beautiful frame above done by fellow framer, Framers Workshop in Berkeley, Ca, vintage postcards, shells or concert tickets, etc., many of us are die-hard collectors and will go to all lengths to find that *one perfect item* to add to our favorite collection. The thrill of the hunt is so much fun!
Having your favorite collections creatively framed not only helps keep them safe and dirt free, but they become great conversation starters, too, when your friends, neighbors and business associates visit your home or office.
In today’s post, we’d like to share with you a few of our favorite framed collections, to inspire your imagination! Ready?
First is this beautiful framed collection of shells. Framing the same type of shell like this makes such a visual impact, doesn’t it?
Here in the Bay Area, we know many of you have extensive shell collections. Have you ever thought of framing 30 of the same type like this?
Next, is this unusual collection of vintage kitchen tools framed by fellow framers, Fast Frame in Hudson, Ohio. We like the way they are creatively spaced, which allows their unique shapes to be highlighted.
Imagine the memories this would evoke, and the stories, if you were to have something like this framed in your own kitchen!
We love it. What do you think?
Framing money, like these colorful paper bank notes from Indonesia, is a wonderful way to remember all the exotic places visited over a lifetime. A framed collection of something like this makes a wonderful gift for a home office or library, too!
Lastly, when you have a big collection like this one of vintage silver spoons, using more than one frame, as fellow framer, Framehouse Boutique in Canada did here, unified by mat and frame color, makes a dramatic visual impact when they are all hung together!
We would love to design a creative frame for your collection(s) as we did below for Bob Fuller’s grill badges!
Some of you may remember our interview with Bob, the chairman of Keels and Wheels Concours D’Elegance, but if you missed it, we invite you to click here to read it now.
We invite you to stop in anytime, and let us help you design a custom frame for your own prized collection!
It’s so much fun to be able to share the stories behind each object, and framing your collections makes a wonderful heirloom to pass on to your children and grandchildren.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. We appreciate it and would love for you to share this post with anyone you know who might need inspiring ideas for framing their own collections.
We appreciate your continuing support of our locally owned business and look forward to seeing you at the shop soon!
